Inside the Frame: June 23
Summer Solstice Vibes 🌞 Join me for a creative photo class, dance it out at a secret beach rave, and don’t miss the FAM exhibition opening!
Happy Monday!
With this heat wave hitting New England, the beach is all I can think about. Yesterday I was able to get a true beach day, lobster roll and all. Summertime was always my favorite season growing up, and we have officially arrived! As a native Rhode Islander, my summers consisted of living and breathing the ocean, being outside, WaterFire events, and going to the summer concert series in Providence (RIP). This place holds a special place in my heart. We are a small but mighty State filled with so much beauty and creativity.
As I grow older, I contemplate whether I’ll ever leave. But a part of me knows I’ll likely stay forever.

What’s been going on…
ATTN all photographers!! I will be teaching a Photographic Storytelling course at the Worcester Center for Crafts! This is a 6-week course guiding you through a photographic project of your choosing! It can be brand new or something you’ve been working on. A perfect space to get feedback and bounce ideas. The deadline to register is the end of this week. The cost of the class is $250 and includes five 8.5” x 11” prints of your work at the end of the class. You can register here.
I’ve also been kicking it into gear, planning my upcoming group exhibition for Waterfire Accelerate. The 6 of us are super excited to share! It’s been a great experience learning about putting on an exhibition, and it’s my first time doing a truly immersive experience with my work. Stay tuned!

Art Book of the Week
To Survive on This Shore: Photographs and Interviews with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Older Adults - Jess Dugan
I think this book is very fitting for our current political climate. In a time when people are being punished for who they are, we need to practice more kindness and acceptance. This photobook beautifully showcases the lives of Trans adults who have gone through so much to be who they are. You can grab this book here if you’re interested.
